Wilson Dental

Our Specialists

Dental specialists are dentists who have completed two or more years of advanced training at a residency training program after receiving their Dental Degree.

Wilson Dental is fortunate to have the following Dental Specialists on staff to provide specialty dental care to our patients:

Pediatric Dentist

According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, pediatric dentists are the "pediatricians of dentistry."  The specialty training teaches them advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures, along with child psychology and clinical management, child-related pharmacology, child development, management of oral/facial trauma, care for patients with special needs, conscious sedation and general anesthesia (working with an anesthesiologist).

Too many adults are afraid of the dentist because of a bad experience in childhood.  Pediatric dentists help to give kids a great first experience at the dentist, leading to a lifetime of great oral health!

Orthodontist

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that specializes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and facial irregularities.

An orthodontist is a specialist in aligning (straightening) teeth, through the use of braces and retainers.  Orthodontists are dedicated to helping your teeth and jaws work in union so that you can speak, bite and chew comfortably and effectively. There’s a bonus. Teeth and jaws that work well tend to look good, too.

Orthodontics drastically improve a young patient's self-esteem.  Misaligned teeth can really wreak havoc on someone's life, both from a cosmetic and a functionality point of view.  Wilson Dental is proud to help people feel great by "straightening everything out!"

Oral Surgeon

A specialist in various oral surgery procedures (including extracting impacted wisdom teeth).  Oral surgeons are also trained in providing IV Sedation to patients.

Wilson Dental is proud to offer surgical services in house for the convenience and comfort of our patients.

Dental Anesthesiologist

A specialist in providing General Anesthesia in the dental office setting.  In other words, someone trained in "putting people to sleep" for their dental treatment.

The specialist is able to give the treating dentist the opportunity to take care of the dental needs for patients who are too young, or too scared, to have have their oral health problems taken care of while awake.

Small children (with extensive dental needs) are often patients often benefit from this service offering.
